I was reminded this past week in a sermon at church that Jesus is always aware of what is going on.  He knows all.  There is nothing beyond his comprehension.  There is nothing beyond his control.  There are so many examples in the bible that show how even when things didn't seem to be going as the disciples intended- Jesus was in control.  One of the best examples, is the story in Mark 4.  Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”   39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!” Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!”

We don't always understand what Jesus is up to- but he does. Even when we don't think he's paying attention and we feel like we're drowning- even then, his hands are on the situation.   There are always plans and reasons for the way things happen including having a baby. We may have sincerely thought out plans for this child, but the Lord has a better plan, and I am so thankful it will happen when he wants it to.  For he knows much better than we do, what we can handle and when we'll be ready for it.  Someday I believe we will understand our lives more clearly, and that God will reveal to us why certain things happened.   I believe we'll be very thankful that they happened the way he intended them to, even though it may be hard to comprehend now.
